      Setup

      1. Login as admin
      2. Create a course
      3. Check that the course has the "MathJax" filter enabled

      Testing scenario

      1. Login as teacher and access to the course
      2. Create a quiz activity
      3. Add a "Calculated multichoice" question with at least, one choice with a TeX formula and a parameter. For instance:
        1. Choice 1: $$ \sqrt{{a1} + y} $$
        2. Choice 2: $${={b1}+{b2}}\bf\hat{b3}$$
      4. Fill in all the mandatory fields, adding also some of the previous formulas to the description (for instance $$ \sqrt{{a1} + y} $$) and click over the "Save changes" button
        • CHECK that under the "Mandatory wild cards present in answers" section, the following wild cards are displayed: a1, b1, b2 and b3
      5. Leave the "Do not synchronise" default value and click to the "Next page" button
      6. Go to the "Add | Add item" section and click over the "Add" button to generate a dataset.
      7. Click on the "Preview" button
        • CHECK that the formula is displayed properly on the description (this should work without the patch also)
        • CHECK that the formulas on the choices are displayed properly (instead of the formula text). If you've used the sample formulas, a square root should be displayed.

TeX formulas are not displayed on the choices, but are shown properly on the question description.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Login as teacher and access to the course
      2. Create a quiz activity
      3. Add a "Calculated multichoice" question with, at least, one choice with a TeX formula, for instance: $$ \sqrt{{x} + y} $$

Expected result: The TeX formula is displayed properly (on the previous sample, a root is displayed)

Current result: The text of the formula is displayed (so no root is visible)
