      Description

Currently in 3.5.x, it seems that if an end date is set for a course and this end date passes, then the course is no longer visible in the navbar.

If this is by design, it means that users are obliged to use other ways to find past courses.
This is a shame, because if current and past courses could be shown in the navbar, it would avoid the need to search for these in the Dashboard or via the Profile option in the user's menu. (Indeed if both past and present courses were listed in the navbar, it would be possible to do a search for all but upcoming courses by just opening the navbar and hitting Ctrl-F/Command-F etc.)

My suggestion would be to make courses with past end dates optionally visible in the navbar.
If this idea seems agreeable, it could be combined with MDL-62719 so that non-student-role users can tell which courses are hidden and which are not.

      Thanks
