As noted by Andrew in MDL-63044 there is still some improvements that can be made to the page content widget rendering to smooth out some of the transitions between states.

The specific one he noticed was when displaying a list of items that only fit on a single page we don't show the paging bar controls however if you change the limit dropdown to a higher number (say from 5 items to 10 items) the paging bar is made visible briefly while the code is loading before it works out again that all of the items will fit on a single page and is then hidden again.
