Go to Administration > Plugins > Authentication > Manage authentication

Enable "Self registration"

Configure reCAPTCHA by following the description for the relevant fields there

Go to Administration > Plugins > Authentication > Email-based self-registration

Select "Yes" in "Enable reCAPTCHA element"

Attempt to register as a new user

TEST: Make sure the reCAPTCHA element appears and works as expected
