Every badge now has a new "tab" named "Competencies" which has nothing to do with the pre-existing Moodle competencies. 

In the description of the page it refers to "External competencies" but this is the only place they are ever referred to as something other than competencies.

I understand this may match the language in the spec for badges - but it is a serious duplication of an existing thing and we now have 3 competency systems in Moodle (Competencies, Outcomes and now "Badges thing that is called competencies but has no relation to anything else in Moodle).

This should not have been added and is a major problem.

Badges and competencies "should" be linked closer together - now it is much harder to do so.

These things badges have should never have re-used the already used term in Moodle for competencies.
