The parent/mentor functionality needs work. Currently,
- Parents/mentor cant see a student's Assignment/Homework deadlines
- Parents can't complete Camp/Excursion permission forms
- Parents have difficulty accessing their Child's course
- Teachers can not email parents
I suggest one of the means of solving this problem would be to create an Enrolment plugin that could be enabled on a Course site, that automatically enrols a Student's Mentees into a Course and assigns a role of the Administrator's choice (Observer Role).
(I would suggest, a custom role called Observer that exists at Course level and has minimal privileges, can not be seen in the Course Gradebook and perhaps should be hidden from the Course Partipant's page.)
