      Description

      Hi!

Currently there's no way to limit the word/character count of an essay question written in a text editor. There's an option "input box size" that defines the size of the text box displayed on a web page, but the text box allows for scrolling the text input and does not hard limit its length.

Teachers in our university have requested for such a feature, to have a hard limit on the length of an Essay question, in words, characters or lines (characters are probably the easiest to implement).

FYI there's a plugin that gives word/char count for Atto:

      https://www.moodlenews.com/2014/word-count-plugin-for-atto-text-editor/

But it doesn't, however, help to impose the hard length limit.
