Steps to reproduce:
- Login as admin
- Create a course C
- Create a user S and a user T
- Enrol user S into course C as student
- Enrol user T into course C as editing teacher
- Login as user T
- Go to course C
- Add an assignment activity
- Set an assignment title of your choice
- Leave all other settings at their default settings
- Login as user S
- Go to course C
- Open the assignment activity
- Submit a submission
- Login as user T
- Go to course C
- Open the assignment activity
- Open the submission for grading in the annotation interface
- Add some annotations to the submission and note that with every annotation, a "Draft annotations saved" popup appears in the bottom left corner
- Do not click "Save changes" and close the browser tab / go away like if you had forgot to finish your work
- Come back as user T
- Go to course C
- Open the assignment activity
- Open the submission for grading in the annotation interface
- Expected result for user T:
- The annotations which have been added previously are still there
- There is a clear status information that the annotations have not been saved yet and that the student will not have access to the annotated PDF yet.
- Actual result for user T:
- The annotations which have been added previously are still there
- There is no possibility to tell if the annotations have been saved before and if the student has access to the annotated PDF already or not.
- The teacher might falsely assume that there is nothing left to do for him, but in fact the student is still missing his annotations
