Forum too eager to mark messages as read (threaded view)

Create 2 users (user1 and user2) and enrol them into a course as students Create a forum in the course Log in as user1 From the user menu at the top right of the page, choose Preferences and then go to Forum preferences Set "Forum tracking" to "Yes: highlight new posts for me" Go into the course and create a new discussion in the forum. Go to the discussion you created and set the display mode to "Display replies in threaded form" Log out Log in as user2 Go to the course and to the forum and view the discussion the user1 created post a reply to that post a reply to your reply Log out log in as user1 again Go the course and to the forum Verify that on the replies column, you see 2 2 (the second number indicates unread posts and is bounded in a circle) Go to the discussion and then come back to the main forum page Verify that you still see 2 2 on the replies column Go to the discussion and then click on the title of the first reply Go back to the main forum page Verify that you see 2 1 on the replies column
