Ensure you are using the Atto Editor

Navigate to Profile>Edit Profile

Type in some text in the description text area

Highlight the text and click on the italics button

Click 'Update Profile'

Navigate to Preferences>Editor Preferences

Set Text Editor to 'Plain text area'

Click 'Save Changes'

Click on 'Edit Profile'

Verify that you are now seeing tags instead of tags

Description

Accessibility rules require that italics text use the tag. Currently the italics atto plugin uses the tag if the browser forces it. Change the plugin to ensure only the tag is used. This code was migrated from the Brickfield Education Labs Editor accessibility efforts.
