Create a course with a shortname in multilang format, e.g.:

EnglishDeutsch

Create a choice activity with two options.

Add a student to the course.

As the student select either option in the choice activity.

As admin go to the choice -> View 1 response -> Download in {ODS,Excel,text} format

Make sure the filename doesn't contain any "span" etc.

When you are in a course that has a shortname using the multilang format (see https://docs.moodle.org/en/Multi-language_content_filter) and export the responses of a choice activity the filename looks like this:
