      Testing

Assuming you are using the Boost theme:

      1. Login as a Moodle Administrator:
      2. Navigate to Site Administration > Development > Debugging.
      3. Ensure that the Show validator links box is checked.
      4. Save changes.
      5. Go to your site's home page or other publicly accessible web page on your Moodle site.
      6. VERIFY: The Section 508 Check and WCAG 1 (2,3) Check links should be gone from the footer of the page.
      7. VERIFY: The Validate HTML and the new Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) check links should both appear in the footer of the page.
      8. Click the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) check link.
      9. VERIFY: The link should take you to the WAVE report for the page being tested.
      10. Click the Validate HTML link.
      11. VERIFY: The link should take you to the Nu Html Checker for the page being tested.
Here is a sample screenshot of what you would see if you were testing this on the home page of moodle.org:

If the 3 verifications produce the expected results, you have successfully completed the testing instructions.

The validator links referring to http://www.contentquality.com seems to be pointing to a freely available domain and do not hosts anymore the cynthia checker.

These links should be replaced with new ones (probably http://www.cynthiasays.com/) or removed.

Update (2021-10-15 by Michael Milette): Cynthiasays.com cannot be used from a link. So I replace both the Section 508 Check and the WCAG 1 (2,3) Check links with a WCAG 2.x Check link which uses the WAVE online accessibility checker.
