Large Images ruin the forum Daily Digest email on iPhone

I read the Moodle.org daily digest email every morning on my iPhone. I've noticed that when someone inserts a large image directly into the forum post body (instead of the attachments dropbox), the view of the email gets ruined for me on my iPhone X. 

Here is what the emails look like (see image with three side by side screenshots: 

Image 1 of 3 -  the daily digest has no large images

image 2 of 3 - the view of the daily digest that has a large image (further down the posts, shown in image 3)

image 3 of 3 - the large image (further down the screen from image 2)

 In the second attached file, this may be a separate issue, but you can see the badges push all of the text into a tiny column making it difficult to read. 

Not sure if this is an iPhone issue or something that can be controlled.
