Explain constraints on custom user identity fields in interface

      1. Log in as admin
      2. Navigate to Users > Accounts > User profile fields in site administration
      3. Add a new Text input profile field
      4. Scroll down the form to the Specific settings section
      5. Confirm the help text for the Character limit field explains the limitations of the field in regards to being used as a user identity field

      The 255-character constraint in MDL-45242 is not shown to the administrator in Users > Permissions > User policies nor in Users > Accounts > User profile fields. The default length of new text input fields is 2048 characters and it's not obvious to site administrators why new fields are not available to be selected as a new user identity.
