    Description

The new Moodle translation manager is a good start, when it works.

One thing that will make the translation process a lot easier would be an XLIFF export/import workflow.

XLIFF is a common file format used by translation management software and translation management companies. It means that:

      1. The translation workflow (including reviews and editing) can be managed using specialist software
      2. Common vocabulary glossaries can be built up to save translation time

I understand that some Moodle pages are not fully defined until they're rendered, eg. if there are filters involved. But a basic XLIFF export/import based on the course backup format would be a very useful first start.
