The Simple search facility would be easier / faster to use if the strings / words searched for were all highlighted in the retrieved text results.

Such facility is pretty much expected in any online search mechanism.

(It is done e.g. in administration searches, but also some activity searches - such as forum searches, database searches, glossary searches.)
