Steps to test As admin/teacher go to the settings of the database activity and set maximum entries to say 2. Now login as a student and add first entry. You should see "Add entry" button in the view page. Now add the second entry as a student. You should not see "Add entry" button. Now as an admin/teacher you should see "Add entry" button.
