HTML characters < > & in answers not displayed correctly for Aiken imported questions

      1. Log in as admin
      2. Create a course
      3. Add a quiz activity to the course created on step 2
      4. From the quiz settings page, select Question Bank (under the more option)
      5. Click on Import (under the questions option)
      6. Select "Aiken format"
      7. Upload the attached test.txt file and click Import
      8. On the question bank page, click on the edit option for the both questions imported
      9. Check if the question text and answers choices matches with the test file

      When importing questions from a file in Aiken format, special characters such as <, > or & are converted to their html entities counterparts (e.g. "<", ">" and so on).

      But, while special characters are displayed correctly in question titles, the same does not happen in answers.

      How to re-create this issue:

      1. Add a quiz activity to a course
      2. From the quiz settings page, select Question Bank --> Import
      3. Select Aiken file format, upload the attached test.txt file and Import
         From the Questions tab
      4. Add both imported questions to the Quiz

      Now you can either preview the Quiz or take an attempt as a student, the result will be the same as shown in the attached pictures.
