    Description

THIS IS AN MUA PROJECT PROPOSAL THAT WILL BE OR HAS BEEN SUBMITTED FOR POSSIBLE MUA FUNDING. ANY EXISTING TRACKER ITEMS THAT THIS MIGHT DUPLICATE SHOULD BE LINKED TO BELOW.

      Overview

This proposal is for an MUA project to enhance the Boost theme to show information about submissions to teachers on the course main page. This is a proposal from the Linnaeus University, Sweden, for the spring project cycle of 2023.

Information about how many students have submitted an assignment, how many are expected to do so and whether there is anything the teacher needs to grade. Possibly also when there are drafts uploaded for an Assignment. The information should be a link leading to the submissions overview page.

The equivalent information for Quiz (how many attempts thats has been made) and other moodle activities, like the Choice and the Lesson activities, should also be shown.

For Assignment there is the information "2 out of 6 students submitted, 1 ungraded".

For Quiz there is the information "2 of 4 attempts", and for other activities there are similar kinds of information.

When editing is activated this information should not show, to not clutter the page when not necessary.

There are themes, for instance Adaptable, that present this information to teachers directly on the course main page under the activity. The theme retrieves information from Moodle core, and there is a setting in the course to select whether to show the information to teachers, or not.

This we think is something a user would expect as a core functionality, and it should be built into the Boost theme.
