    Description

I'm getting more and more asked if there's a feature in Moodle to auto-save while editing. Currently, while editing a course or adding an activity and accidentally closing the tab, the browser crashed or even an error occured while publishing the content, everything is gone. So other online tools are saving the draft version while editing automatically in the background like:

First time, I wanted to implement a separate plugin for that, but I think this should be a core feature. Furthermore, I've no idea how something like that could be implemented as a plugin that works on most of the pages.

Finally, I hope I'm getting some support for this feature request since I think it's also "state of the art" to auto-save draft copies while editing.
