Set up:

Download reports.php in the attachment (in this file I have added the caption for a table by using set_caption_for_table caption: 'Caption for table' with class = 'inline');

Override the reports.php in Moodledirroot/admin/reports.php by file reports.php in the attachment.

Go to site administrator -> Navigate to Plugins -> Navigate to Reports -> Manage reports

Expected:

The text "Caption for table" with class = inline should display.
