Login as admin. Create a course. In the course create a Quiz activity. (make sure to not add any questions) Go to Questions. Open the Add dropdown menu and click on "+ a random question". In the 'Existing category', in the filter make sure that you have selected a category that does not have any questions in it. Open the console in the browser and then press 'Add random question'. confirm you don't see any errors in the console and random question was created. For "Number of random questions" select "3" Go to the 'New category' tab (make sure the console is still opened) Add a name for the new category and press "Create category". confirm you don't see any errors in the console confirm  that 1 random question was successfully created in the new category.
