As Admin, create a course (or use an existing one).

Access its question bank and create a cloze question with the following text in it:

Optional question \{0:SHORTANSWER:~%0%Input box~%100%*}

In the question bank, choose 'Edit -> Preview' for this question.

On the preview screen, if necessary, check that 'How questions behave' is set to 'Interactive with multiple tries' and restart the preview.

Type in an answer, and click the 'Check' button.

Verify that there is no error shown.

Here are the steps to replicate the issue:

Create a course.
Access its question bank and create a cloze (mutianswer) question with the following text in it:
Optional question {0:SHORTANSWER:~%0%Input box~%100%*}
Access Questions tab.
Set Maximum grade to 0 and save.
Create a label in the course and use the filter_embedquestion to embed the question.

The user will see a divide by zero error when saving their response.
