For our two Workplace clients with the largest volume of learners (970K for one, 1.8 million for the other), per-learner course completion can take 30 minutes or longer if the completion conditions require cron, specifically:

• Course grade
• Enrollment duration

This issue impacts courses on a wide spectrum of enrollment volume, from below 1K to 970K, with the majority of courses in the 1K to 5K range.

For one client, we have delivered a solution that avoids cron for the course grade condition. But both clients are seeking to make cron-based workflows more performant in general, and specifically for course completion (the biggest pain point impacting the most users).
