Gradebook: Aggregating scales in different methods

      Hi everyone,

I have noticed that natural aggregation calculates scales starting from 1, while mean of grades and weighted mean of grades start from 0.

For example in the custom scale: Good - Great - Excellent

      • Natural aggregation awards: 1 - 2 - 3 points for each level.
      • Weighted mean of grades and Mean of grades award: 0 - 1.5 - 3 points for each level.

Being used to the older aggregation methods (mean of grade and weighted mean of grade) as well as the way Rubrics are set (starting with 0 points) I was expecting Natural weight to start with 0 points too.

If the aim is to simplify the Gradebook, using only the Natural aggregation shouldn't they treat scales in the same way?

      Quoting Natural weighting documentation:

"Natural weighting without custom weights corresponds to Sum of grades and simple weighted mean (SWM). Natural weighting with custom weights corresponds to Weighted mean of grades."

      Thank you!

      Anna
