Setup:
- Make sure that you are not in dev mode (cache disabled), so if you are using mdk do a mdk undev.
- Create a course (or skip the following steps and use the course attached to this ticket)
- Create a group A
- Add a subsection Sub1
- Add an assignment A1
- Restrict access to the subsection Sub1 to Group A only
- Add a student S1
Testing:
- Use your web browser in private navigation and login as S1
- In the non private browser window, login as admin
- As S1 load the course content / index
- As an admin, add S1 to the Group A
- As S1 refresh the page
- Ensure that S1 can view A1 in the course page
- Ensure that in the course index A1 is also visible
- Remove S1 from the group
- As S1 refresh the page
- Ensure that S1 can not see A1 in the course page
- Ensure that in the course index, we cannot see A1

This issue was discovered in MDLQA-19368 (See comment from Luiggi for more context).
When a subsection has group restriction, after adding/removing a user from the restricted group, the course index is not correctly updated and needs an extra page reload.
Steps to reproduce
- As teacher create a group and add the student in
- Add a group restriction for the "Stealth activities" subsection
- As student, confirm you can see subsection and all items
- As teacher, delete the student from group
- As student, confirm you can see restriction message and cannot see items
- What should happen: In the course index, activities inside subsection should NOT be visible
- What happens: In the course index, activities inside subsection are visible
- Reloading the page an extra time will fix it.
