Ability to assign or display custom title for role of person in course

In the early Moodle, when you assign someone a teacher or non-editing teacher in a course, you had the option to choose the title of the person to be displayed on the front page.

Now, it displays the person's role. So if l have two teachers, one is editing teacher and the other is non-editing teacher, the students see on the front page
James Taller - non editing teaher
Jill Taller - Teacher
But we just want the students to see both as 'Teacher' or 'Professor' despite the fact that they have different roles. So can we add the feature to rename a person assignment as we had in early versions of Moodle. Something like a display title for the role in a particular course.
