      Reported by Eloy, after upgrade from 1.8 beta 1 to beta2 can not login due to Authentication plugin '' not found. erro on login page

      Solution: add detection and fix for broken values of $CFG->auth on the login page, manual plugin should work in any case even when the rest is broken - admin needs to login to fix auth settings.
