Log in as admin and browse to Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Message outputs > Manage message outputs.
Disable Email notification.
In the user dropdown menu (top right) go to Preferences then click Message preferences.
Check that Email notification is not listed as a notification method for Personal messages between users
Return to Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Message outputs > Manage message outputs and click the settings link for Mobile message.
Complete the Mobile message fields and save changes.
Return to Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Message outputs > Manage message outputs and click the settings link for Jabber message.
Complete the Jabber message fields and save changes.
In Manage message outputs re-enable email, check Mobile and Jabber is enabled
Go back to User menu > Preferences > Message preferences again and check that Email and Mobile notification is listed for Personal messages between users
Go to User menu > Preferences > Notification preferences.
Click on settings icon for Jabber and add a Jabber ID.
Go back to User menu > Preferences > Message preferences again and check that Jabber notification is also listed for Personal messages between users
