Overview:
The test only works with Safe Exam Browser (Windows) ≥ 3.0.
Test Pre-requisites:
- This test requires a quiz containing several questions, one of which should have a playable audio (mp3) file embedded.
Test Steps disallowing audio control:
- Login as a teacher, edit the quiz settings for 'Require the use of Safe Exam Browser' to be 'Yes – Configure manually'.
- As teacher, set the settings for 'Enable audio controls' to 'No'.
- Login as a student and access the quiz.
- Do start the quiz attempt (which should trigger Safe Exam Browser to be used).
- CONFIRM there ARE NO audio controls in the Safe Exam Browser taskbar at the bottom of the Safe Exam Browser screen.
- Quit Safe Exam Browser either with the "Quit" button in the Safe Exam Browser task bar or by pressing the keys Ctrl-Q or by clicking the main browser window close button.
Test Steps allowing audio control:
- As teacher, set the settings for 'Enable audio controls' to 'Yes'. Assure yourself 'Mute on startup' is set to 'No'.
- Login as a student and access the quiz.
- Do start the quiz attempt (which should trigger Safe Exam Browser to be used).
- CONFIRM there ARE audio controls in the taskbar.
- Quit Safe Exam Browser either with the "Quit" button in the Safe Exam Browser task bar or by pressing the keys Ctrl-Q or by clicking the main browser window close button.
Test Steps allowing audio control, and set to muted initially:
- As teacher, set the settings for 'Enable audio controls' to 'Yes' and 'Mute on startup' to 'Yes'.
- Login as a student and access the quiz.
- Do start the quiz attempt (which should trigger Safe Exam Browser to be used).
- CONFIRM there ARE audio controls in the taskbar and the audio level is 0% initially.
- Quit Safe Exam Browser either with the "Quit" button in the Safe Exam Browser task bar or by pressing the keys Ctrl-Q or by clicking the main browser window close button.
Test Steps disallowing task bar, disallowing audio control, and set to muted initially:
- As teacher, set the settings for 'Enable audio controls' to 'Yes' and 'Mute on startup' to 'Yes'.
- Then, set the settings for 'Show SEB task bar' to No.
- Login as a student and access the quiz.
- Do start the quiz attempt (which should trigger Safe Exam Browser to be used).
- CONFIRM there is NO task bar, and there are NO audio controls and the audio level is 0%. You can prove this by playing the mp3 file in the question containing it.
- Quit Safe Exam Browser either with the "Quit" button in the Safe Exam Browser task bar or by pressing the keys Ctrl-Q or by clicking the main browser window close button.
