This test requires admin access. If you would like to use the QA testing site for running it, please see the QA testing guide for details of how to request admin access. Begin just after the hourly reset to give yourself plenty of time to complete the test!

The test also requires a course in Weekly format.

1. Log in as an admin and go to Site administration / Plugins / Course formats / Manage course formats.
2. Verify that you can't delete Topics format as it is the default format.
3. Disable Single activity and Social format.
4. Log out then log in as a teacher and go to the course in Weekly format.
5. In the course settings, verify that you can only change to Topics format.
6. Log out then log in as admin again and re-enable Single activity and Social format and disable Weekly format.
7. Log out then log in as the teacher again and return to the course.
8. In the course settings, verify that it is still in Weekly format but says "Weeks format (disabled)".
9. Log out then log in as admin again and go Site administration / Courses / Course default settings.
10. Verify that you can't change the default format to Weekly (since it is disabled).
11. Go to Manage course formats and re-enable Weekly format.
12. Go to Course default settings and change the default to Weekly.
13. Go to Manage course formats and verify that Weekly format is now default and can't be deleted.
14. Log out then log in as a teacher and return to the course.
15. Verify that in the course settings you see all four options.
