This test requires admin access. If you would like to use the QA testing site for running it, please see the QA testing guide for details of how to request admin access. Begin just after the hourly reset to give yourself plenty of time to complete the test!

This is an exploratory test of a new feature or improvement, so please feel free to try anything you like and not just the test steps!

      1. Log in as admin and enable 'Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Assignment settings > Enable timed assignments' setting.
      2. Create a new assignment, enable 'Time limit' setting and set to 15 minutes.
      3. Access the assignment created and confirm the time is shown in the summary table.
      4. Log in as a student and access the assignment created.
      5. Verify that the time is shown in the summary table.
      6. Click on 'Begin assignment'.
      7. Verify that a modal indicating how much time there is to complete the assignment is shown.
      8. Click on 'Begin assignment'.
      9. On the assessment submission page, verify that the time limit is shown in a block on the right hand side.
      10. Verify that the time limit counts down towards zero.
      11. Verify that if you leave then return to the assignment page, the summary table shows the time limit counting down.
      12. Verify that on the assignment submission and assignment summary page the time limit counter shows the "warning" style (orange/brown background color) when there is less than 15 minutes left.
      13. Verify that on the assignment submission and assignment summary page the time limit counter shows the "danger" (red background) style when there is less than 5 minutes left.

      Time limit can be overridden

      1. As admin, go to the assignment and navigate to 'Overrides' option.
      2. Click on 'Add user override', select a different 'student' user, change time limit to 20 minutes and Save.

      8. On the assessment submission page, the time limit should be shown in a block on the right hand side.
      9. The time limit should start on 20 minutes and count down to zero.
      10. If the student returns to the assignment page, the summary table should now show the time limit counting down
      11. On the assignment submission and assignment summary page the time limit counter should show the "warning" style (orange/brown background color) when there is less than 15 minutes left.
