An administrator can display additional names for users

      Description

      This test requires a course to be available for enrolling new users.

      1. Log in as an administrator and go to 'Add a new user' in the Site administration.
      2. Create two new users with the following details (all other details of your own choice)

      User 1:
      First name = Grainne
      Surname = Beauchamp

      In the Additional names section add:

      First name phonetic = Gronya
      Surname phonetic = Beecham
      Middle name = Ann
      Alternate name = Jill

      User 2:
      First name = Niamh
      Surname = Cholmondely

      In the Additional names section add:

      First name phonetic = Neev
      Surname phonetic = Chumlee
      Middle name = Jane
      Alternate name = Nina

      3. Go to 'User policies' in the Site administration, change 'Full name format' (fullnamedisplay) to 'firstnamephonetic,lastnamephonetic', set 'Alternative full name format' (alternativefullnameformat) to 'middlename, alternatename, firstname, lastname' and save changes.
      4. Go to a course and try enrolling the two new users.
      5. Check that when searching for users the two new users are displayed with the format defined in 'Alternative full name format'.
      6. Go to the Participants page and check that the users are displayed with the format defined in 'Alternative full name format'.
      7. Log in as teacher.
      8. Go to the course and try enrolling the two new users.
      9. Check that when searching for users the two new users are displayed with the format defined in 'Alternative full name format'.
      10. Enrol them as students.
      11. Go to the Participants page and check that the users are displayed with the format defined in 'Alternative full name format'.
      12. Log in as one of the new users.
      13. Go to the course.
      14. Go to the Participants page and check that the users are displayed with the format defined in 'Full name format', so with their phonetic first and last names.
      15. Log in as admin.
      16. Go to 'User policies' in the Site administration, change 'Full name format' to another option, for example 'alternatename and lastname' and save changes.
      17. Go to the Participants page and check that the users are still displayed with the format defined in 'Alternative full name format'.
      18. Log in as one of the new users.
      19. Go to the Participants page and check that the users are displayed with the new 'Full name format' defined (alternatename and lastname).
      20. Log in as admin.
      21. Go to 'User policies' in the Site administration, blank the 'Full name format' field and save changes.
      22. Go to the Participants page and check that the users are still displayed with the format defined in 'Alternative full name format'.
      23. Log in as one of the new users.
      24. Go to the Participants page and check that the users are displayed with their first name and surname.
