This test requires a course to be available for enrolling new users.

1. Log in as an administrator and navigate to Site administration>Users>Accounts>Add a new user.
2. Create two new users with the following details (all other details of your own choice)
User 1:
First name = Grainne
Surname = Beauchamp

Locate the section Additional names and add:

First name phonetic = Gronya
Last name phonetic = Beecham
Middlename = Ann
Alternate name = Jill

User 2:
First name = Niamh
Surname = Cholmondely

Locate the Additional names section and add:

First name phonetic = Neev
Lastname phonetic = Chumlee
Middle name = Jane
Alternate name = Nina

3. Navigate to Site administration>Users>Permissions>User policies and change Full name format to firstnamephonetic,lastnamephonetic. Save.
4. Navigate to a course and to Course administration>Users>Enrolled users. Verify that when searching for users the two new users are displayed with their phonetic first and last names. Enrol them.
5. From Navigation>Participants, verify the users are displayed with their phonetic first and last names.
6. Return to Site administration>Users>Permissions>User policies and change the Full name format to another option, for example alternatename and lastname. Save.
7. Repeat step 5, verifying the users are now displayed with their alternate name and surname.
8. Return to Site administration>Users>Permissions>User policies and remove the additional name fields, leaving the Fullname format blank. Save.
9. Repeat step 5, verifying the users are now displayed with their regular first name and surname.
