1. As a teacher in a course, add an activity "External tool".
2. Type a name and paste this as the URL: http://lti.tools/test/tp.php if that URL does not work, try the instructions below.
3. Select "Embed" as the "Launch container".
4. Press "Show advanced". Enter "secret" as the 'Shared secret', and "12345" as the 'Consumer key'.
5. Make sure "Accept grades from the tool" is selected.
6. Save and Display.
7. As a student in the course, visit the activity.
8. Click "Outcomes" and then click "Update".
9. Type in a grade between 0 and 1, like 0.34, to send it back to Moodle.
10. Go the Moodle course gradebook and check that the grade is now correctly in the gradebook.

If the URL above does not work, you can use these alternate steps, but you will need a test server

1. As an admin go to Site administration ▶︎ Plugins ▶︎ Activity modules ▶︎ LTI ▶︎ Manage tools
2. Add this as the URL: http://lti.tools/test/tp.php
3. Select all capabilities, then press "Register tool"
4. Confirm the tool
5. As a teacher add an external tool
6. Select the tool type you just added
7. Select "Embed" as the "Launch container".
8. Make sure "Accept grades from the tool" is selected.
9. Save and Display.
10. As a student in the course, visit the activity.
11. Click "Outcomes" and then click "Update".
12. Type in a grade between 0 and 1, like 0.34, to send it back to Moodle.
13. Go the Moodle course gradebook and check that the grade is now correctly in the gradebook.
