Moodle Docs currently has a lot of blocks for navigation - in the left column and on the right of many pages e.g. http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Forum_settings - which is a problem for smaller screen sizes. It also has a navigation bar e.g. Home ► Moodle Docs ► English ► Forum settings which I doubt is used much.
My suggested improvements are as follows:
1. Do away with blocks in the left column and move links to the page footer, similar to what has been done in the Unified Republic of Stars MediaWiki skin http://www.unifiedrepublicofstars.com/wiki/index.php/The_Unified_Republic_of_Stars:Skin
2. Do away with the MediaWiki search completely (it doesn't work well at all) and instead have a Google-powered 'Search Moodle Docs' at the top right of each page (replacing the 'Search moodle.org' feature)
3. Do away with the current navigation bar and instead add styling to a navigation trail created by templates (see MDLSITE-1516)
Note: These are rough suggestions which need further thought, such as where to include links to http://docs.moodle.org/overview/ and http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Table_of_Contents. Also, the Moodle Docs skin should continue to work for all the other Moodle Docs wikis.
