      Description

      As requested by Séverin Terrier:

I come back to you several months later about french Moodle doc. We've recently talked again about that with Nicolas and other french users, and we (the french community) would now like to have a separate wiki for Moodle 2.x.

To be more precise, what we would like:

keep 1.9 documentation (we'll do some cleaning to remove 2.x informations in the future)
create one new documentation, for all 2.x versions, with a fresh clean wiki (the URL shouldn't be 20 but preferably 2 or 2x)

Just to confirm, the new wiki should be completely empty i.e. NOT a copy of the existing wiki.

Please could you advise whether you'd like 'Moodle Docs for this page' links in Moodle 2.x to redirect to the new wiki as soon as it is set up, or whether you would prefer to wait with the redirect until the new wiki has a reasonable amount of content.

Thanks Helen for the creation of this new task.

I think it's better to redirect 'Moodle Docs for this page' links in Moodle 2.x to the new Wiki.
It will allow to easylly put on all the redirects to "full name" pages. It will also "force" french speaking users to involve in the docs

I think it will be useful to add an information at the top of all pages, to say that work is in progress (at the begining).

I'll also involve some time when this new wiki is open, to create main pages, categories, redirects and so on to facilitate the work for other people...

Just noting that we'd also need a 2.x icon for the wiki.

A point not to forget : in 19 english documentation, the "in other languages" bloc links should point to 19 french version (and not "the last one").

Severin, unfortunately I don't know of a way to make inter-language links point to older version wikis. If you can somehow figure it out, let us know and I'd be happy to implement it.

            Helen,
I don't really know MediaWiki, nor how the MoodleDocs wiki's are set up, but perhaps these pages could be usefull :
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Interwiki_linking
            http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:InterWiki
            http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Interwiki_table
If i understand well, that would allow to make links like [[19en:page name]] (or [[19:en:page name]]) and [[2xfr:nom de page]] (or [[2x:fr:nom de page]])...

            Séverin, thanks for the links.

Still no time (at all) for this small style change?

As asked initialy in MDLSITE-1736, it would also be good to have a 2.x icon (in all 2.x language docs). Should i create another issue for that?

            Cheers,
