      Description

      The 'components' list on each of the tracker pages is incredibly small (5 items at once), relative to the number of items in it (70+ in Moodle, I'm not sure how many in contrib). This makes selecting the right component very time consuming and fiddly.

      Is there any chance the size could be increased? A quick hack using the chromium 'inspect element' feature has suggested to me that 15 items at once might be a reasonable number.

        This is possible but seems like a cludgy fix, see:
        http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Changing+the+Size+and+Content+of+the+Components+Select+List

        the list size has to be hard coded in the template

        any votes for increasing size?

        I've just posted in the developer forum to see if there is any support for this change (although I notice it has already gained a couple of votes, without that promotion).

        You can't set the size attribute of the select element using CSS but its height value, try something like

        select#components

        { height: 20em; }

        I use the Firefox add-on Stylish (href="http://docs.moodle.org/en/Stylish) for such kind of customizations.

        Cheers,
        Frank
