You can use the books in the prototype 2.9 site, notice that one of the books is going to fail (if you try to download it for offline consumption) since the activity duplication left missing images

If you test in a 2.7 or 2.8 site the module should not be available, I noticed a bug in the $mmCourseDelegate. The module isEnabled function returns false but it's not handle correctly by the delegate (so it seems that the module is available)

Since Moodle 2.9 the book module supports the get_contents callback, we can add then support to this module in the app
