Check that shortened texts has now "Show more" text.

Check "show more" text is readable with the white gradient background.

Check that shortened texts don't follow links, play videos, open images... and instead of that the text is expanded.

Check that expanded texts do the right click action (follow links, etc) inside them and the text does not collapse.

Check that expanded texts click outside a link, video, etc collapses the text.

Check that shortened texts with "fullview-on-click" opens a new state with the whole text (e.g. Assignment online texts or feedback).

Currently the shortening is done using the character length of the string. This is done cleaning HTML tags before.

We can shorten HTML using max-height and overflow attributes on CSS and adding visual indicators to show the text has been shortened.

Amazon does that on comments.
