This issue can be tested on any text entry (like messages or new forum posts or replies). Test using prototype sites because they use MySQL database. Note: some basic emojis like smile face or heart are supported so they won't be discarded. Navigate to messages. Send normal text among some unsupported emojis. Check user gets notified and emojis are removed form the text sent. Send only animal emojis. Check user gets notified and since message without emojis would be empty an error is raised. Send only text and check it's been sent. Now try to add a discussion on a forum and check every previous step: combining text and emojis, only emojis and only text.
