This issue needs to be tested in a site with MDL-63542 integrated.

      1. In web as teacher, create a new section in a course.
      2. Hide that section.
      3. Create a new activity or resource in that section. In "Common module settings" > Availability, select "Make available but not visible on course page". After creating it, you should see a message under it saying "Available but not shown on course page".
      4. Open the activity and copy its URL.
      5. In another section (visible), create a new URL resource with the copied URL in it.
      6. In the app, login as teacher and open the course. Check that you see the "Available but not shown on course page" message for the activity in the section.
      7. In the app, login as student and open the course. Check that you don't see the hidden section and you don't see an empty section (no name) at the end of the course.
      8. Open the URL created in step 5. Check that you are redirected to the activity created in step 3 and you can view it.
      9. Click "Back". Check that you're at the initial section of the course (the one that's loaded when you open the course).

Activities and resources placed in hidden topics and then made available (stealth mode) cannot be accessed in the Moodle App.

      Steps to replicate this issue:

      1) create an activity or resource in a section/topic

      2) hide the section/topic

      3) make the activity or resource created in 1) available to students

      4) create a link to the activity in a visible area of the course page

I expect that a user would not be able to see the activity or resource but that they would be able to access it via a link somewhere else on the course page. However, when a user selects the link, they receive the following message: "Error getting activity data."
