In the app, login in a master site as a student and go to More > App Settings > Message preferences. Check that you see only 1 toggle per processor (Email, Mobile, ...). Login with the same user in web, open the messaging and click the cog icon. Check that the notification preferences matches the ones in the app. Back in the app, check that you can change the settings. After every change, refresh the browser and check that the changes are reflected in web. Now login in a 3.5 site or older and go to Message preferences. Check that now you have 2 toggles per processor: Online and Offline. Check that you can change the settings.
