Description

As a user who relies on my device's built-in screen reader to navigate Moodle App, I want to know which content a "download" button relates to, so that I can ensure I am downloading the correct content.

Summary:
When using the Moodle App with a screen reader (iOS or Android), the download buttons on the Module Downloads screen are announced only as "download button," with no indication of the document they relate to. This lack of specificity can be confusing for screen reader users who need to know which document or full week they are downloading. In contrast, the completion tick boxes are announced in a way that includes the content they relate to, ensuring clarity for users. Download buttons should be announced with the same level of clarity.

Acceptance Criteria:

Download buttons next to sections should have screen-reader alternatives with the section name, e.g., "Download Week 3" or "Download Weeks 4-5."
Download buttons next to activities should have screen-reader alternatives with the activity name, e.g., "Download Test quiz."

Testing Instructions

Test on one Android and one iOS.

Using an screenreader and keyboard, enter any big course and open the download course.

Check you can expand and collapse sections and you can understand states and buttons according to section headers: Expand, collapse, download and delete.

Please notice that the download/delete buttons in a section cannot be selected when using a screenreader (they can be selected using keyboard). This is a known issue, see https://moodle.atlassian.net/browse/MOBILE-4443#icft=MOBILE-4443.

Thanks for the response and testing.
This is a know issue that involves moving the buttons in a clickable ion-item outside of the item and we will work on it in a near future. I'm pushing that forward to integration.

Hi @Pau Ferrer,

I have checked the accessibility feature on the download button and everything works well, except issue that when I touch any section, the screen reader works fine. However, when I try to swipe into the download icon button or delete icon button and double tap to interact, it doesn't work. What do you think about this behavior? If possible, could you help resolve it?
